I found a recipe for home made teething biscuits and decided to give it a try! Turns out – they are a pretty big hit with Little Man. So I’ve started making them once a week. They are so easy and simple, anyone can make them with the items you already have in your pantry! You’ll need:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup baby cereal (any kind that suits your fancy)
- 2 jars baby food (or about a cup) – I’ve used apples, pears, sweet potato – you can really use anything your little one likes.
- 1 tsp cinnamon to taste (you can also try all spice or pumpkin pie spice – mix it up!)
Whip it all together in a mixing bowl and you’re ready to either roll out on a floured surface to cut into shapes or you can roll or pat unto any shape you desire. I don’t have many cookie cutters, so I used one of Little Man’s bottle caps to make circles. Warning: the dough is sticky.
- Preheat oven to 350
- Bake for 30 minutes
- Variation: after baking for 30 minutes, move from cookie sheet to oven safe rack and bake an additional 10 minutes to crisp.
Let cool completely before serving. Store in an air tight container or in the refrigerator for an extra cool teething effect.
